Forever Ever Loved in Never Neverland

"FIRE AT WILL BOYS!!!" bam, bang, bang, bang, bam!! Shouted the cannons and pistols at random in the air repeatedly, firing their rounds in vain at their speedy aerial target. A cocky laugh rang through the air and it came closer to the decks of the Spirit Bringer as its owner quite literally flew past the pirate crew.

"When will you learn Kirkland!? You'll never get me! I'm just too good for you!" you laugh as you perch yourself on the crow's nest, hands curled into fists and on your hips confidently. You smirk down at the red black and white clad pirate below shaking his rapier at you. All you could do at that action was laugh at how ridiculous he looked.

"Yo! Pirate lackey coming up for you at six o'clock!" hinted your fairy companion in your ear. Another confident smirk as you jumped down on top of him and pulled out your short sword.

"tell ya what captain," you spat the word captain to make it an insult, "whoever wins this sword fight, gets to keep the magic gold dust and gets to take something precious from the loser." You bat your sword from one hand to another playfully, your ( colored) eyes burning with confidence and determination. This was no challenge for you, you were Peter Pan's heir for a reason, and this was no more than a mere game for you.

Captain Kirkland's own lips upturned into a cocky grin as he nodded in agreement. "What shall we wager this time (last name)? your fairy for me and what for you?" he waved his rapier for effect, that smirk never leaving his face even though you knew he was still pissed at you for taking something that you knew he couldn't handle. It was your job to make sure that he never got his hands on something magical from Neverland.

You thought for a moment, "hmmm…." It suddenly came to you, "I know you have something else that possesses magical abilities that you're not supposed to have—your spell book. That's exactly what I want." His smirk fell slightly for just a moment but it returned and he nodded in agreement.

"On the count of three then?" he asked and you shook your head.

"Nope! Because I know you're a dirty cheat Kirkland. Tell me, how it feels to have a mere CHILD figure you out and you can't seem to figure out a mere child?" you said as you lunged for him and he cleverly stepped aside and kicked you forward. For a moment you stumbled but you quickly regained your balance and took to the air, the simple joy of thinking how you would beat him making you lighter than air.

He glared up at you and lashed out at you with his sword. "And you call ME a dirty cheat! It's hardly a fair fight when I have no reach!"

"Very well then! I shall keep a half foot's length from your reach!" you laughed at him mockingly; neither of you ever played fair and you realized long ago that if you gave him even the SLIGHTEST chance he would over take that chance and sneak some unfair advantage into it. Not only in staying half a foot in the air from his reach were you ensuring your safety, you were also making the game more interesting and humorous as you watched him pitifully try to reach for you, jumping up and down barely an inch off the decks. Eventually you got bored of this and in one swift move you not only disarmed him but had him planted firmly on his backside, short sword to his chin.

Smiling slyly, you tipped his chin up and placed the point of your sword in the area where his jaw began to stop and his throat started to begin. "Now English Pirate Captain Arthur Kirkland! Your spell book if you please?" your smile widened as you stuck your free hand in his face and gave the "fork it over" motion with your fingers.

Growling and emerald eyes blazing up at you, he pulled a black book out of his coat pocket and held it up for you to hold. "You want it?" he asked, "you can have it!" he then whacked you across the face with it while tossing it over the edge of his ship. You yelped and called for your fairy friend to grab it as best she could. Before he could do anymore damage, you jumped high into the air and snatched the book from (fairy's name) and smiled at it.

The gunshots started again and you rolled your eyes. 'Such poor aim, really…' you thought as you zoomed back to the mainland. A giddy, triumphant feeling buzzed all throughout your body and you skirted through the jungle with ease, finding your secret hiding place. You slid down the hollow tree trunk to where you made your home, childish drawings everywhere. Your smile was replaced with a crestfallen frown, there were no lost boys or girls or any sort of children at all. They all realized that when Peter left to be with Wendy, the wretch, that they truly did miss their mothers and fathers, leaving you alone to guard Neverland. You were the true lost girl; you were the one that would never possibly grow up, a child, well, teenager, forever.

Your frown was once again replaced with a smile as you remembered the day you found Peter, playing hide and seek with his own shadow. You had recently had ran away from home and had made a new home in the park. A giggle slipped your lips when you saw him hiding behind a tree. "Afraid of your own shadow?" you had asked him, making him jump. He laughed at your joke and it was as if you two were immediately friends. That was when he offered you to become part of his crew in Neverland and you readily accepted. Being a teenager, some of the lost children were a bit wary of you, even Peter, now that his crew had brought it up, started to have doubts, but when it came to you and dealing with Pirates, there was no one better to deal with them other than Peter himself.

Unfortunately with Peter and the lost boys' leave, came Hook's, which left you bored for the longest time. You had gotten so used to "playing" with the pirates that nothing else seemed fun, not even playing with the forever young Tiger Lily, who was one of your best girl friends. Then HE came along somehow, that blasted Arthur Kirkland, the "gentleman pirate" as he claimed to be. While he had more manners than the previous crew of pirates, he was anything but by your standards.

Today was probably the best fun you had with that scum swallowing brine cruising pirate in a long while. You laughed and twirled with both the magic gold dust and his book in your hand, falling back on your so-called bed, which was really a giant nest with a bear skin and a quilt over it and a poorly made pillow filled with straw.

"Man (fairy's name) did you see all that?! I swear they get dumber every time I see them!" your fairy friend giggled and situated herself on your chest as you lay back holding the objects in the air. "Wonder what he wanted this stuff for? I know it's magic and he's got a thing for that, but I don't think it does anything more than what your fairy dust does…" with her tiny hands, (fairy's name) plucked the pouch from your hands and peeped in.

"It looks, smells, and feels like fairy dust, that's for sure! But I hear from the fairy elders that this is what makes Neverland enchanted and keeps everyone the same age…can you imagine if Kirkland got his hands on it and somehow found the source!? He'd hog it to himself and everybody would age so fast we'd be dust ourselves!" her tiny eyes went wide as she surged with mock panic and she giggled.

Your eyes rolled at her mellow drama as you watched her plop the pouch on your poorly carved tree stump bedside table. "Yeah right, (fairy's name) no one knows the source of that but your fairy elders, and I bet they barely know where it comes from. The only reason why it's in that pouch is cause your kind trade with the Indians and they wanted it for some kind of medicine. Tiger Lily must've been messing with it and that's how he got his hands on it…" you stared intensely at the pouch and then turned your attention to the little black book, grinning mischievously.

"Should we…" you started

"Open it!" she finished, not even making it a question as you had intended. You laughed and cracked it open to a random page in the middle, starting to read. Thank god you still could; you put your finger at the top of the page and you were surprised to find a date. You moved your finger down a little and found two shocking words:

Dear Journal

Your eyes widened as you realized this wasn't a spell book. They grew larger as you realized what you had thought was a spell book he was looking through this whole time was actually a journal. "(fairy's name) it's not a spell book! It's his freaking diary! This is gold! ...but why would he throw it away and make me believe it was his spell book…?"

She perched on your shoulder and peered down at the book, the words too big for her to read, and waited for you to read aloud. "I dunno, but it sure as heck would make a better bed time story than a spell book!" you laughed and started to read the passage aloud.

Dear Journal,

I've no idea how long it's been since I arrived here, please try to ignore the date as it is habit and based on educated guessing. But day after day I wonder if I'll ever go home. My isolation here has made me bring upon memories as to who I was before I became a pirate, memories of before I became known as the "gentleman pirate Arthur Kirkland". And with those memories came thoughts of who I should be now. we've tried and failed several times to leave this place but we never could, we are stranded within these waters and, as any pirate would tell you, plundering the same place over and over isn't all that much fun by the third time. After the third time it becomes a need rather than a means of enjoyment, especially here. No, I don't want to plunder anymore, I have to survive, I have to be a leader of a band of misfits to stay alive and keep them alive as well.

It's not just the island that has changed me, it's her as well. That lovely yet wretched, girl I came to know all those years back. She was such a beauty when I first laid eyes on her, she still is, that gorgeous messy hair of hers and the way she held herself so proudly with her chin held high. That lady, no, definitely not a lady, drives me mad sometimes with how overconfident she can be sometimes, and yet it is that reason why I find her so intriguing. She's different than any other woman I've ever met, she doesn't worry about her appearance, and she is unkempt and retains a childish spark that leaves many long after their teens.

I shall never forget the day I laid eyes upon her. We had just placed ourselves on the beaches with our longboats when I saw her standing there, staring down at me and my men much more harshly than she ought to have. "been a while since I've seen pirates," she had said aloud, though it seemed as though she was pointing it at me, managing to figure out I was the captain of the bunch. Being the "gentleman pirate" I introduced myself and politely asked for her name—she refused to give it.

You paused for a moment, thinking about this girl he was speaking of. What was odd was that you had a vague memory of something simiar. At first, you thought he was speaking of a woman from where he was from, then when it came down to the island, well you knew it could be one of two things, the first being that it was one of the Indian women, more than likely Tiger Lily, since she was the prettiest of the bunch you always thought; the second…you didn't want to think about and you continued reading, skipping over a few paragraphs.

she was…incredible at fighting. Where she learned to fight with a sword I shall never know. I wish I could tell her how I've grown to love her, but…because of her childish nature…I doubt she truly knows what love really is. I hope, one day, she comes to find this journal (if she does I will be long since gone) and read the words I could never say:

(full name), I love you, with all my heart, and I would gladly give up my pirating for you to be able to love me the way I shall always love you.

Captain Arthur Kirkland

You whispered the last sentence, your eyes wide with shock and yet, somehow you knew this was the truth. Why else would he spare you every time he had you in his clutches? It would also explain why his men were such terrible shots. Had he ordered them not to take you down completely? You felt your heart ache as it thrummed in your chest and the sound of it rang in your ears.

(fairy's name) had fallen asleep on your shoulder long ago and as you placed her in her little bed beside yours, you uttered softly, "he…loves me….?" Then you uttered something you had always thought of in the back of your mind, "I toy with him because I love him too…" you swallowed hard and gained a determined look on your face.

Quietly you snuck out of the hollow and flew back to the Spirit Bringer. Thankfully only the captain's quarters was still lit. With silent bare feet you padded onto the deck and lightly knocked on the door. You heard him bid you to come in wearily and you did so, shutting the door in a way that it didn't make a sound other than a faint click to reassure that it was in place.

"What do you want?" he asked, his back turned as he fiddled with a map and compass. You noticed there was a faint scent of earl gray tea in the air, something you had long since forgotten in your days on Neverland. Growing impatient he asked again, "I said, what do you wa—"

He turned around and stopped mid sentence to see you hovering slightly, a soft appreciating look on your face. He drew his rapier and pointed it at you, but you knew this was his façade.

Shyly, you looked down then back up, sheepishly holding out the journal. "i…I read a little bit of it…I thought it would be filled mostly with pirate stories but….all I could find was stuff on me…..you…really love me…?" you asked, knowing his answer already. Your words made him slowly lower his sword and he nodded, his cold green eyes suddenly melting away to reveal a tender warmth. To confirm your suspicions he nodded slowly and you swore you could detect the sprinklings of a blush on his pale cheeks.

"I want nothing more than to spend my life with you…and thanks to this accursed island…I think I'm able to do that, and for once…living forever doesn't seem so bad…" he smiled softly at you and pulled you down onto your feet. "(name) I love you…please say you feel the same and I…I don't know what I'll do to celebrate!"

You giggled a little and nodded. His warm embrace was the start of your relationship and together, the two of you protected Neverland for the rest of your days.
EDIT: soooo, i'm curious, what did everyone name their fairy since it's an option? i really didn't want to put tinker bell, i'd much rather think she stayed loyal to Peter and went with him. (*gigglesnort* i just realized...Peter Pan could have also been Sealand and Wendy could have been Wy, but this is a youxEngland, not a SealandxWy)

.........i did it again..........i had an idea and i ran with it...i've created another bastard child....:iconheaddeskplz:

i love it, but i hate the ending...it just wound down to something i wasn't really going for...the fact that it's Pirate!Englandxreader is purely due to the fact that Asakiku is my otp when it comes to pairing England, and...let's face it, Japan could never pull of Peter Pan's replacement.

oh well, at least this is the first thing to be crossed off my 50 themes challenge thing, which is still open for free commisions--because my brain is on overload and i can't think of stories and pictures for all of them.

also the term "gentleman pirate" did NOT come from the fact that England is both a gentleman and a pirate, it actually came from one of my favorite mangas called "Destiney's hand"...albeit Arthur is a different kind of gentleman pirate than Captain Blaine, but whatever. a gentleman pirate is a gentleman pirate and oh god i'm going to kill myself in the morning for staying up so late to finish this.

ugh, my mom is expecting to read this...which means i have to make it NONHEATALIAXREADER....which means lots more typing. oh joy. =__= iiiii hate my life sometimes. g'night y'all.

peterpan and neverland and tigerlily and all that good stuff belongs to disney/original creator of peter pan even though he's prolly dead and can't sue the shit out of me for doing something like this.

himaruya-san on the other hand and funimation ARE still around and CAN sue my ass for copyrighting so respected characters and such belong to them and not me and this is PURELY fanfiction

oh, and you own yourself, if i owned you that would be called slavery, something else i'd rather not be charged for. lol
